The Motivations to Improve

I have been so fortunate to have the support of an amazing group of people at FreeSTAR, my ever encouraging wife Helen & my Parents in the building of the Gateways so far.

But I also want to give a shout out to some of the others....

The honest truth is the inspiration, support both technical and emotional, encouragement and motivation I have received from the Amateur Community I've received has been incredible.

It's helped me continue to push the envlope in terms of not only the technical aspects of the gateway but also in terms of being an active Amateur Radio Operator again.

So a shout-out and special thanks to;

Graham GM0UUB and the amazing Helen Queen of Scotland MM7HQS of the International Radio Network (IRN)

They are probbly the best double act Amateur Radio has ever had - Their Friday Night KB1 Multimode Net is beyond fantastic.

I have never laughed so much. They do an incredible job as Dual Net Control and it is a true highlight of my week.

It's thanks to their incredible energy and enthusiasum that I took up the challenge of being Net Control myself on behalf of the IRN for September's end of the month net.

I had the time of my life! I'm very grateful of the oppertunity and hope to be in the hot seat again.

Gordon MM3XGP who is a very active supporter of Amateur Radio on Facebook, and also with the team at DVScotland.

He's given me some interesting challenges (even though he probbly did'nt realise it) in regards to improving the gateway and it's ability to be Found but the Amateur Community by integrating APRS beaconing into the system so that it shows on the APRS.fi Map. Which then lead me to learning all about APRS and it's ability to transmit telemetry etc.

There's been many many late nights so far spent working on this. lol

Bruce M0UKB & Shane M0VUB who have continued to support all my activities.

They recently recruited me to join the Admin Team at FreeSTAR and it's been fantastic, For me it's a massive privilage to be part of the team and a huge honor to be able to help, and support the network that has given me so much joy.

The FreeSTAR network, being totally honest has been one of the best things that's ever happened to me, I've found so many new friends, It is an absolute joy. So thank you Guys!
